There are two main ways to be involved. You become a Subscriber or join the Association as a Member.

Subscriber

You can register as a subscriber to Pro Photography WA and this will entitle you to receive newsletters and emails (without being spammed), keeping you up-to-date with what's happening in the industry are what events are on offer. 

Subscriber membership is free. However, Subscribers are not members of Pro Photography WA, and they have no entitlement to any member benefits.

Member 

Membership of the Association gives you many benefits including priority booking at events and member only pricing. Many events being free of charge to members. In addition you will have access to member discounts across a range of services and also access to member only sections of the website.  

There are four classes of membership available. To be a Member in any class (including 'student') you must be at least 18 years of age and - with the exception of Non-WA membership - a resident of Western Australia.

Ordinary Member

This is FULL membership of Pro Photography WA (officially known as `Ordinary Member', but there is nothing ordinary about you!) Ordinary Members of Pro Photography WA are entitled to discounted pricing for Pro Photography WA events (many of which are free for members), as well as discounts and benefits from our sponsors and access to `Member Only' events. They also have the opportunity to promote their Membership to clients and that they are bound by a code of conduct. Members have full voting rights at general meetings and the AGM.

Ordinary Membership has a $50 joining fee and an annual subscription of $200

Student

Student membership are for those who are at least 18 years of age and who are currently studying a recognised photography course at a tertiary institution (such as North Metro TAFE, Curtin University, Murdoch University, Edith Cowan University, Notre Dame University) at Diploma level or higher. Student members enjoy reduce membership fee and reduce ticket rates for some events. They are entitled to access the same information available on the website as do our Ordinary Members. However, they do not have any `voting rights' at any general meeting or the AGM.

Student Membership has a $50 joining fee and an annual subscription of $50

Retired

For those who have retired from the photography industry and are no longer working or earning an income from their photography skills and prowess, Retiree membership may be appropriate. Similar to Student Membership, Retiree Members enjoy reduce membership fee and reduce ticket rates for some events. They are entitled to access the same information available on the website as do our Ordinary Members. However, they do not have any `voting rights' at any general meeting or the AGM. 

Retiree Membership has a $50 joining fee and an annual subscription of $50

Non-WA Member

Non-WA membership is available to a person who is not a resident of Western Australia but otherwise meets the criteria of either ordinary, student, or retiree membership. 

This class of membership has no voting rights and cannot enter the Association's Orloff Awards pro photography competition.

Non-WA Membership has a $50 joining fee and an annual subscription of $200

Accredited Photographer 

Although not a class of membership, the Accredited Photographer scheme is an optional business focused accreditation scheme available only to ordinary members of the Association who are actively engaged as a photographer in the business of creating and selling photographic images to customers.

The Scheme acknowledges professional competence to a high standard in the areas of image quality, customer service, and ethical and professional business practice.

The cost of Accreditation, which lasts for 5 years, is $200.  This is in addition to the normal membership fee of $200 per year.
